Private School Lady Visits St. Francis High School

The Private School Lady visited St. Francis High School, the all boys school in La Canada, this past Tuesday for their Articulation Event and Dinner. This was more a business visit to meet with other private school principals. However, I have to say, the most fun was interacting with students. The boys were so willing to model and be a part of my photos. I approached about 15 students and asked if they would be up for taking some photos. Every single one jumped out of their seats to join me. We had such a great time taking some photos. That is my ideal situation.

All guests got to see some special services St. Francis High School offers. A highlight of the evening was watching the video-media department in action. Students create, edit and produce their own newscasts. Students presented a live newscast about their play, The Burnt Part Boys, spoke about a recent football game and its highlights, and shared up some school updates. They even used green screens to create their own digital backgrounds. There is a daily news broadcast to keep students up to date on school meetings, colleges visiting the campuses and other important happenings for the students. See samples videos HERE. It was great to see the students handling all aspects of broadcast television.

Another topic that was highlighted was the yearly Spring pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy with a group of students to learn more about the school’s Franciscan roots. The trip is an insightful time for students to look within and find renewed spiritual growth.

The most fun part of my visit was interacting with the students.

You can visit St. Francis during their Open House for prospective students and parents on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 12pm – 3:00 pm. Be sure to check out St. Francis’s profile page on our LAPSG website for more information about their test dates and academic info.
