Private School Lady, Mia Johnstone visits Judson International School | K-8 | Pasadena, CA | Pasadena Private School
Last week I had the privilege of visiting Judson International School, a non denominational Christian school in Pasadena. Judson was created as an affordable option for missionary families. It was so interesting to me that there was a big enough missionary population to create a school. Now Judson serves families of the Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley. Along with K-8 education, they also offer weekly classes for students that homeschool. I highly recommend visiting Judson if you are a homeschooling family that wants to engage in an education community.
I love art work. And I especially love seeing a school that fosters the visual arts. It was endearing to see art pieces from Judson’s current students being displayed all around campus. The hallways had student paintings and drawings all over the walls. The art room (3rd photo down) had amazing natural light. Loved seeing the paintbrushes lined up in cans on the cabinets.
The younger students in kindergarten through 4th grade had their own section. When we walked through the gate students were eating lunch. There wasn’t any specific lunch area and students could sit anywhere in the yard. They looked so free in their environment. The lower grade classrooms were full of light. They were comfortable classrooms with sofas for students to sit and read.
The open and beautiful campus is shared with a few other schools, though you wouldn’t know that they were there. Morgan Tom in Admissions was so warm and welcoming of the LA Private School Guide. A definite positive and worthwhile visit.
